July 2, 2024Akila is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Saint-Gobain, a worldwide leader in light and sustainable construction. This partnership aims to achieve a 33% reduction in all carbon emissions (scope 1 & scope 2) by 2030, a goal that underscores both companies’ commitment to sustainability. The collaboration will be executed in two key phases:

Phase 1: Deployment of Akila’s digitalized energy management system across Saint-Gobain and/or its Affiliates’ factories in the APAC region.

Phase 2: Implementation of Akila’s optimization solutions, tailored to the processes of each site, across Saint-Gobain and/or its Affiliates’ factories in the APAC region to significantly reduce Saint-Gobain’s carbon footprint.

The collaboration builds on the success of Akila’s recent project at Saint-Gobain’s APAC Research Center, where the deployment of advanced digital energy monitoring and HVAC optimization solutions resulted in an 18% decrease in overall energy costs. Akila will now work with Saint-Gobain to continue expanding the scope of its optimization solutions to continue reducing carbon emissions in pursuit of Saint-Gobain’s 33% target (scope 1 & scope 2) by 2030.

In addition, Saint-Gobain and Akila will explore ways to develop comprehensive market-facing offers for property developers and the real estate industry. This will combine their respective strengths, including Saint-Gobain’s lightweight sustainable materials and Akila’s digital twin platform for building data and advanced simulation to set a new industry standard for innovation, efficiency and sustainability.

Philippe Obry, Akila’s Vice-President, stated, “We are excited about this strategic partnership and its potential to significantly enhance energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and achieve operational excellence.”

Ludovic Weber, CEO of Asia-Pacific, Saint-Gobain, added, “Together, we can set new standards in the construction industry, positioning our combined offering as a leader in sustainable and technological innovation.”
