Akila Wins DB Schenker Digital Challenge

We are thrilled to announce that Akila has been named one of the winners of the prestigious DB Schenker Digital Challenge! This win marks a significant milestone for Akila, as we have secured the project to digitalize three of DB Schenker’s 15 warehouses in Singapore.

DB Schenker, a leading global logistics service provider with a history spanning over 140 years, has been a key player in Singapore since 1970. With a robust network in Malaysia and a strong presence across diverse industry sectors, DB Schenker is committed to energy efficiency and sustainability, aiming for strategic decarbonization of all its operations by 2030.

The DB Schenker Digital Challenge seeks to outline a digital journey for three warehouses, aiming to achieve Net Zero—both Zero Energy and Zero Carbon—by 2026 or earlier, and to reduce Energy Use Intensity by 50%. Centralizing the Building Management Systems for all three sites is another key objective.

In this context, Akila will deliver a solution meeting BCA standards, including the Integrated Digital Delivery and Smart Facility Management Framework. Our platform ensures seamless integration with third-party systems, guaranteeing compliance with statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements while aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

By creating connected virtual replicas of physical assets, Akila’s digital twin platform will enable real-time monitoring, simulation, optimization, and sustainability across all facilities. This will unify DB Schenker’s facilities and systems into a single source of information and certification, enhancing operational efficiency, establishing performance baselines, and supporting strategic planning.

Leveraging Akila’s ACMV optimization and sustainability initiatives, DB Schenker aims to significantly reduce energy use, contributing to their goal of a 50% reduction in Energy Use Intensity (EUI).

Our commitment to technological innovation aligns perfectly with DB Schenker’s objectives. By deploying Akila’s digital twin platform, we are excited to support DB Schenker on its journey to net zero emissions by 2030. This collaboration will enhance operational efficiency and solidify DB Schenker’s position as a leader in sustainable logistics and digital transformation, contributing to a cleaner, greener future starting from Singapore and Malaysia.
